Whether you are a past or present student or family, or you were just homeschooling before it was cool, you can help support CERC!

Our budget for 2020-2021 is a bare bones budget. This means we have no extra funds to pay for some crucial software updates and devices which are needed to manage the business side of CERC. Your participation in this fundraiser will help provide these items.

We must sell 100 t-shirts to raise the needed funds. Our t-shirt provider, Custom Ink, will close the fundraiser Thursday, September 24th, so don’t delay!

In addition to ordering a shirt, you can help support CERC by giving a financial gift through Givelify. Click on the link to make a donation.

CERC Board

Extended Enrollment and Desk Hours!

The CERC Board is pleased to announce that our enrollment for the fall semester is sufficient for us to keep serving the North Texas homeschool community for another year! All praise be to the Lord!!
The following classes, sadly, did NOT make their minimum enrollment numbers and will be dropped from the Fall schedule.

  • An Art Adventure, grades 1-3
  • Effective Reading, Note Taking and Study Skills, grades 8+
  • Greek and Latin Word Roots, grades 2-4
  • Elementary Literature and Grammar, grades 4-6
  • American Sign Language, grades 9+
  • Elementary American History, grades 3-5
  • IEW 1, grades 3+
  • Astronomy, grades 1-3
  • Marine Biology, grades 10+
  • Physics, grades 11+

It is encouraging that most of the classes made, but our hearts are sad for these few that did not.

If you had a student enrolled in one of these dropped classes, we encourage you to take a look at the updated Fall schedule and consider transferring your enrollment to a different class.
Which brings us to some exciting news!

The Board has made the decision to extend enrollment!
A Board member will be at CERC every Tuesday and Wednesday,

July 21, 22, 28 & 29, August 4, 5, 11 &12

between the hours of 10 am – 2 pm

to assist with enrollment or to answer your homeschool questions.

*Please note that the enrollment fee base rate is $100 for the remainder of the 2020-2021 academic year per our Tuition Policy

We hope to see you soon!

If you are new to homeschooling and have questions, please email info@CERConline.org. We are happy to assist you!

Updated COVID Plans

CERC’s plan is to OPEN!

As of today, CERC plans to begin the 2020-2021 year on time. The board will be closely monitoring all of the happenings with COVID-19 and will make timely decisions as needed.
However, please know that we will not necessarily make decisions in line with local school districts. We plan to be more in line with local churches.

Plan A includes: in-person classes, hand sanitizing stations, frequent wiping down of tables, desks and chairs, daily sanitizing of cloth couches/chairs.
Face coverings will be required in accordance with Dallas County mandates.
To assist in social distancing, Students with more than 1 hour between classes will be required to leave CERC and return no more than 10 minutes before their next class.
Parents must be prompt in picking up students.
Positive COVID test results must be reported to the Director of Education within 24 hours. *Failure to report a positive test result is grounds for dismissal.

Please prayerfully consider volunteering at CERC while your student is in class(es). We will need a small army of volunteers to keep up with cleaning.

Should State and local mandates require a shut down:
Plan B
includes: on-line classes at the teachers discretion. Not all classes lend themselves to on-line instruction. If we must move to on-line instruction, parents will have the option to drop classes with no penalty or fees. If you would like to discuss our refund policy, please email info@CERConline.org

CERC will strictly enforce our sick policy which is outlined in our
Parent Guidelines and Responsibilities and states,

” Families agree not to bring students to campus that have had fever, diarrhea, vomiting or other contagious condition in the last 24 hours. CERC is not responsible for administering any medications. Parent is responsible for contacting the instructor(s) directly for any missed class(es) and assignments.”

The board is confident that all of our families will be extremely careful to respect each other by being extra diligent in choosing to keep their family member home if in doubt regarding illness.
If you are new to homeschool and have questions, please email info@CERConline.org. We are happy to assist you!
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Bookstore COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

We value you as a member of our CERC homeschool community and are constantly monitoring the local, state, and national COVID-19 landscape to ensure we make the best possible decision for how to re-open our bookstore space. We will always put your safety, and the safety of our volunteers and board members, as our top priority during this unprecedented time.

Procedures in the Bookstore

The CERC Bookstore is taking steps to maintain the safety of our volunteers and customers. We have already implemented curbside pickup, online orders, and phone orders. We will continue to have these options as our main form of low-contact shopping. We will continue to adapt as necessary.

In order to maintain procedures for keeping the bookstore clean, we have created shopping guidelines that are required for anyone entering the bookstore. We ask for your patience and understanding as we attempt to protect and serve everyone involved.

Shopping – Summer 2020 Temporary Guidelines
  • To allow all of our customers the freedom to move about the store as they shop without worrying about social-distancing, we have put together one (1) hour time slots for individuals.
  • Customers and volunteers are required to wear face masks at all times within the bookstore. YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY IF YOU ARE NOT PROPERLY WEARING A MASK.  This is a courtesy to everyone involved and is not negotiable.  (As of June 21, 2020, Dallas County requires masks for all businesses.)
  • Volunteer staff will wash hands, sanitize work stations, and clean commonly used equipment and surfaces frequently. We will be cleaning between appointments, and at the end of each day.
  • If you, or someone with whom you have regular contact, are in the high risk category, or you do not feel well, please do not come to the bookstore. We will be happy to be your personal shopper!
  • Reusable bags will not be allowed at this time.
Curb-side Pickup

Curb-side pickup is still available for all families. Through messages and pictures we can find what you need and arrange for curb-side pickup during regular hours.

  1. Call the Bookstore during regular business hours with your short list of books. 972-475-4138
  2. Have a LONG list? No problem! Email your list to liz.hach@cerconline.org
  3. You can also text us through FaceBook messenger.
Shop by Appointment

We are using Sign-Up Genius to schedule appointments for those who wish to shop! These are (one) 1 hour time slots. As a courtesy to others, please only schedule ONE time slot initially. There will be plenty of time to discuss and find what you need for the Fall.

Please follow all guidelines (and these are subject to change depending on state and local requirements.) MASKS ARE REQUIRED. YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY IF YOU ARE NOT PROPERLY WEARING A MASK.

Shopping Online

Our NEW STORE WEB-SITE has been published. Although many more titles will be added, you can explore the new online bookstore. Email or call us with any questions regarding specific titles.

Selling Books by Appointment

Currently, the CDC guidelines are unclear in the handling of used merchandise. However, there are many statements regarding “limit the sharing … of objects that cannot be easily cleaned” {paraphrased}. Obviously, we want to take every precaution possible. The purchase of used textbooks and curriculum will be handled with this in mind. All books purchased will be handled with gloves, cleaned if possible, and will be held for 2 weeks before being placed on the shelf for purchase.

Beginning in June, there are Book appointments for selling books. Appointments are offered at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday throughout the summer. Your patience and consideration will be greatly appreciated while we work through the best way to bring in much needed curriculum.

  • We will only process one (1) box per appointment and within the 1 hour appointment.
  • Books must be clean (no dust, dirt, or liquid stains).
  • Customer does not have to remain in the store during the appointment.
  • All other regular bookstore Buy Back policies are still in effect.

CERC Bookstore

The CERC Bookstore has more than what is listed online! Email Liz at liz.hach@cerconline.org or through the CERC Bookstore Facebook page.

We continue to monitor Dallas County reports on cases, as well as their recommended policy. By May 20th, we hope to have a plan for shopping by appointment. Please make sure you’re on our mailing list!

Send me your list or questions about curriculum or books. I will be happy to help you out! We will be happy to help you find what you need. We can do curbside pickup or mail packages.

Enrollment Procedure during shutdown

Due to the restrictions recently announced for Dallas county businesses, we are unable to take in-person enrollments at CERC at this time. In addition, distance learning will continue through the end of this semester.

However, CERC is taking mail-in enrollments from current and new families for the fall semester.  Please download and print the enrollment forms from the website. You can view the 2020-2021 schedule here. Mail all completed forms and payment (personal checks only) to:

c/o Michelle Nott
15209 Saddle Ridge Circle
Terrell, TX 75160

If you need to pay with cash, please indicate that in your enrollment paperwork. We can schedule a time for a Board member to meet you at CERC to collect curbside payment (exact amounts only). Please note, students will not be added to the class list until payment has been received.

In order for classes to remain on the schedule and for CERC to continue to be a resource for our families, it is imperative that enrollments start coming in and classes start filling up. Please help us get the word out about fall enrollment. Tell everyone you know! Also, remind them that we need completed enrollment packets and checks only (no money orders or credit card payments will be accepted) mailed to the above address. Cash payments, in the exact amounts, will need to be by appointment ONLY. Again, please indicate the need for an appointment on the enrollment packet when you mail it in. We will contact you to arrange a time to meet.

Spreading the word about CERC is the best advertisement we have!

Your patience and understanding, as well as your prayers, during this unprecedented time will be greatly appreciated.
