{SPRING 2021} Economics – gr 10+

Exploring Economics by Ray Notgrass is a one-semester high school course. It provides one half-year of credit in economics.

Notgrass.com Course Description: “With a narrative, conversational style, Exploring Economics guides your student on a fascinating and relevant tour through the world of economics. Your student will become a better steward of the money God provides and a valuable, informed contributor to the economy on the personal, household, local, national, and international level.”

In addition to studying the concepts taught in the textbook, the students will work on a personal budget project to better prepare them for life as an adult. They will research and choose a potential career. Once they have chosen their careers, they will research the cost of training for their field, be it college or trade school, and then establish a personal and realistic budget for themselves as they look ahead to beginning their independent lives. Hopefully, this project will give them an accurate picture of the financial responsibilities that are faced in adulthood and motivate them to set obtainable goals for themselves.

One or two smaller projects/essays may be required throughout the semester as well.
