Description: The Journey of Art will explore various art styles, cultures, and mediums as we travel through time and space. Transpire from the fierce landscapes of Japanese ink paintings to storytellers in cave art, Navajo sand, cartooning and then capturing images of daily life with art elements illustrating shape/form versus abstract/real. Our life is a journey, a way to grasp our experiences and allow them to inspire our art processes.
This art project based course will inspire creativity, enhance artistic ability and skill, and grow appreciation for various art styles. Students will learn the meaning behind the creation of art. Be prepared to be inspired! This course will enable you to experiment with multiple mediums including but not limited to pencil, charcoal, pastels, watercolor, collage, printmaking, marker, sculpture, and ink.
Art styles: abstract, expressionism, modernism, Op Art, Realism, Impressionism, Pop Art, and Fauvism.
This course will provide a full high school fine arts credit.
