After graduating from Florida Bible College with a degree in education, Mrs. Tamez began teaching in Texas as a home school mother. After years of teaching both her own children and others (in a co-op), she started teaching at CERC. Mrs. Tamez has taught a variety of subjects (including seven distinct science subjects during her ten-year tenure at CERC), to students ranging from preschool to high school. However, the one thing that has remained a constant in her career is her love of nature and teaching science.
Mrs. Tamez lives in Rowlett with one of her four children and husband. She loves reading, spending time with friends, and playing with her grandchildren. She is grateful to have a job that allows her to work with a wonderful group of teachers, as well as students who inspire her daily. She considers it to be rewarding to see former students go on to have successful careers in medical and scientific fields. In her twenty-one years of teaching, one of her most enjoyable experiences has been helping students understand concepts that seemed out of reach to them.
