Description: The ocean takes up 71% of our planet’s surface, making an understanding of it and its occupants a necessity. We will study the continental shelf and the ocean floor, currents and other physical features of the ocean; as well as the biology of marine life, including marine invertebrates and vertebrates, ecology, inter-tidal zone, estuary communities, coral reefs, etc. We include visual and physical examples of marine life as well as doing many experiments, microscope work and 13 dissections.
