Effective Reading, Note Taking, and Study Skills – gr 8+ {Fall 2017}

Description: This one semester course prepares the student for the rigors of high school and college courses. It is a modified version of the course this instructor teaches at the university level. This class  teaches advanced reading and study techniques to increase reading speed, comprehension and retention abilities. The student will learn how to more fully comprehend and distinguish between main points, major details, and minor details. The student will also learn valuable note taking techniques that improve long-term recall and shorten time spent studying. This course improves the entire information-gathering process and fulfills ½ high school elective credit.  Homework: 1 hr/wk
