Description: Want your middle school student to know more about the world God gave us? Know how to use a map and atlas? Students will learn physical aspects about each continent such as name and location of its highest mountain, longest river, widest dessert, most populated area, and more. We will explore 3-5 cultures found on six different continents. We will investigate what words like latitude and longitude mean and make flashcards for other geographical terms. Is there a country currently in the news? We will know where it’s located.
I have a list of great literature books that go along with our current area of the world being studied that you can incorporate into your home studies. Students will give an oral report or turn in a written report for 5 of our continents and will be given tests at the end of each continent.
Teacher will supply outline maps and other worksheets plus many hands-on activities to help cement the student’s learning.
